Benaroya, who co-produced “Margin Call” last year, is fully financing “Kill Your Darlings,” a $4 million thriller with Daniel Radcliffe and Michael C. Hall about young beat poets Allen Ginsburg and Jack Kerouac and a murder.
And he’s also financing the $11 million “Hate Mail,” with Scarlett Johansson, Robert Pattinson and Philip Seymour Hall. And he executive produced “The Paperboy,” also screening in competition in Cannes.
That's a lot of money to be throwing down. Benaroya, apart from noting that he's only lost money on one movie he's made thus far, said he likes to gamble.
“I’m a serious poker player," he said. "People like to underestimate me: ‘You look 25. You look like a nice guy. I’m gonna take you for everything you’ve got.’ They’re often surprised when they don’t.”
If the info in the article is correct, I believe they meant Philip Seymour Hoffman, not Hall. Just a typo.

Writing-directing team Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, who became darlings of the indie scene following "Half Nelson" and "Sugar," have set their next picture, a drama titled "Hate Mail."
Project will be fully financed by Wayfare Entertainment, which previously produced Fleck and Boden's adaptation of Ned Vizzini's novel "It's Kind of a Funny Story."
"Hate Mail" will feature interweaving stories about several Manhattanites who encounter various iterations of hate mail and grapple with the subsequent fallout of their relationships.
Project reunites the filmmakers with a quartet of past collaborators, as Jamie Patricof will produce through his Hunting Lane Films banner, while Paul Mezey will produce via his Journeyman Pictures shingle. Wayfare's Ben Browning and Jeremy Kipp Walker will also produce.
Mezey previously produced "Sugar" and exec produced "Half Nelson," while Patricof produced both of those films.
Fleck and Boden are repped by WME and Management 360.

Rob Pattinson is attached to star in Mission: Blacklist, a psychological thriller that aims to tell the true story of the man who spearheaded the capture of Saddam Hussein.
Preferred Content’s Ross M. Dinerstein is producing alongside Erik Jendresen and Kevin Waller.
Jendresen, who was a writer-supervising producer on HBO’s Band of Brothers, wrote the script adapting the book titled Mission: Black List #1: The Inside Story of the Search for Saddam Hussein---As Told by the Soldier Who Masterminded His Capture.
The book was written by Eric Maddox, the Army interrogator who played a key role in pinpointing Hussein's hideout. Davin Seay co-wrote the book.
Embankment Films, the international sales and distribution company recently launched by sales veterans Tim Haslam and Hugo Grumbar, will sell the film at the upcoming Cannes Film Market. Jean-Stephane Sauvaire is attached to direct.

The Hollywood reporter informerat lite inside information om filmgalan i Cannes 2012. Som det ser ut nu så kommer Rob att vara nere i Cannes. 19 April är det dags för den årliga filmgalan för den 65'e året i rad.
Brad Pitt and Robert Pattinson are in while Gosling's a question mark as the festival comes together. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have a date on the French Riviera. The official lineup of films selected for the 65th Cannes Film Festival won't be revealed until April 19, but the Twilight stars can book their flights because both have movies debuting at the fest, which kicks off May 16. Stewart's invite comes courtesy of On the Road, director Walter Salles' adaptation of the 1957 Jack Kerouac novel that defined the Beat generation, while Pattinson stars in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, the screen version of Don DeLillo's novel about a fateful day in the life of a wealthy financier.

Rob kommer ju att delta på Berlin´s filmfestival för att promota Bel Ami.
Både presskonferansen och fotograferingarna kommer att hållas 17 Februari kl 13.45. Fotograferingen är kl 13.55.
Studio Canal har bekräftat att Rob kommer att synnas på röda mattan tillsammans med sina co-stars Uma Thurman och Cristina Ricci och såklart regissören.
